Our company has won the implementation of the solar panel investment at both locations of M3 Logistics Ltd.
The M3 Logistics Ltd. has recently joined the growing number of Hungarian companies committed to conducting their operations with the smallest possible environmental footprint. We are proud that they have entrusted the realization of this aspiration to our company, which boasts over 20 years of professional experience.
We have established solar panel systems at two locations:
- At its headquarters on Székely Elek Street
- and its branch location on Visonta Street, M3 Logisztikai Kft.
We have prepared a case study to illustrate the positive changes that the installed solar panel system brings to the mentioned company. We will demonstrate how we assisted in optimizing the company’s electricity expenses and finding the perfect solar panel system.
Furthermore, we will present the factors that guided our client in their decision-making process. Last year, a logistics company approached us because they wanted to minimize their electricity costs in an environmentally friendly manner.
Given the high energy prices, it’s not surprising that even larger companies are increasingly concerned about energy efficiency and renewable energy. Not to mention the increasingly favorable return on investment, making renewable energy investments even more appealing to businesses.
Following preliminary consultation, our colleagues conducted precise on-site measurements, which served as the basis of the planning phase to determine the most optimal solar panel system for the end user. Additionally, the amount of solar panels to be installed for achieving the desired impact while considering the budget allocation was also determined.
After the surveys, two identical system sizes were designed for two distinct locations, taking into account consumption data and available roof space.
Furthermore, based on the quantity of solar panels to be installed, the size of the inverters was also specified. In addition to the measurements, drone footage was captured, which plays a significant role during the creation of the visual design.
What is the precise objective of investing in a solar panel system?
Primarily, the main goal is to ensure a relatively quick return on investment for our client’s renewable energy project. Furthermore, it is essential to minimize operating expenses while maintaining comfort and being environmentally friendly.
The owner places significant importance on both nature and environmental conservation in their life, and as a business leader, they highly value these principles.
With these solar panel systems, an annual reduction of 41 tons of carbon dioxide emissions can be achieved, total 1230 tons over the entire 30-year lifespan of the systems.
Efficiency Curve and Other Factors
In the diagrams, we can observe two nearly identical systems, both of which feed back into the network.
From an orientation perspective, there is a slight difference, which is reflected in the system production data.
The generated energy is almost the same; however, the consumption of the two warehouses differs. It is clearly visible in the charts that we have offset approximately 35% of the consumption in both systems.
As mentioned earlier, these systems can feed surplus energy back into the network, allowing them to utilize the excess energy generated in summer during the winter.
Even after the annual balance is settled, this remains advantageous because the company uses the generated electrical energy during the day.
Why is this so advantageous?
In workplaces, consumption typically occurs during daytime when solar panels are generating electricity. Therefore, investing in a solar panel system can be considered an excellent energy-saving solution for businesses.
The curve is intended to showcase the efficiency of solar panels tested worldwide. These results are currently based on laboratory conditions, but ongoing developments are gradually improving the figures in a favorable direction.
Inverter and solar panel.
Our client had two identical systems installed at two different locations. The proposal included an optimized SolarEdge system, with each proposal containing one 100 kW and one 50 kW inverter. In total, we installed a 300 kW power system.
On the solar panel side, each system was equipped with 448 Longi LR5-66Hih-500M solar panels facing south, totaling 224 kWp in solar panels. Each system is capable of producing 250-260 MWh of electricity annually.
We prefer this solar panel brand because they prioritize innovation and reliability, offering excellent value for money and consistently raising the standard of solar energy technology in terms of quality.
Let’s look at the return on investment and what the numbers tell us!
The price of such a system is approximately 75,000,000 HUF + VAT. Since the cost of electricity shows some variability, for simplicity, let’s calculate it at a rate of 120 HUF per kWh for now.
Currently, the return on investment calculations are being filled out with the data from a facility with higher consumption. In this particular logistics company, one of their facilities consumes 55,7628 kWh of electricity annually. So, at the end of the year, based on the previously mentioned prices, this would amount to a 66,915,360 HUF electricity bill. If the solar panel system generates 35% of this, then the return on investment is just over 3 years.
Thanks to accurate calculations and a detailed needs assessment, the solar panel system we installed has proven to be successful and is performing as expected. It’s satisfied customers like these that inspire and motivate our company for the future.
